Collection: High-Fire Reduction

High-fire reduction firing is a pottery technique where clay pieces are fired at high temperatures  in a kiln with a limited oxygen supply. As the flames burn up the available oxygen and then seek oxygen in the glaze and clay body, the reduction atmosphere causes chemical changes in the clay body and glaze, often resulting in rich variations of colours and textures.
