Ceremonial Tea Cups (set of 2) - shino on porcelain

Small ceremonial cups for gong fu style Chinese tea ceremony (gōng fū chá 功夫茶) used with high quality, loose leaf tea.   Hand-made. 

This set is hand made of porcelain with a Japanese style shino glaze in a high fire, reduction atmosphere.  The type of glaze and the reduction atmosphere result in carbon-trapping, where carbon infuses into the glaze especially around the rim creating a unique and irreproducible grey pattern.  

Holds approx. 50 ml  (1.7 oz)
