About Jasmine

Jasmine Rose

Jasmine enjoyed all forms of art as a young child, as a teen began to learn the potters wheel at the Randall Museum in San Francisco and in her 20's came back to clay at Ruby's Clay Studio in the Castro. Another break 15 years she found herself back at the potter's wheel in 2018 and has been potting regularly since. She is a potter, a doctor of Chinese medicine, and a permaculture designer of restoration-based, school and community gardens.

Inspired by the ritual of tea at tea houses in the San Francisco Bay Area, Taiwan and China, Jasmine focuses her pottery on teaware specializing it atmospheric firing techniques, where the atmosphere of the kiln affects the colour and texture of the glaze and clay, with each firing varying and unique.
