The Canadian prairies, shaped by the last Ice Age—which peaked 18,000–20,000 years ago—were scraped and reshaped by glaciers, leaving behind a base of mineral-rich clay in glacial lakes that is excellent for 

Productspottery.  This everyday tableware line is made on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia.
