TEA STORAGE BOX (raku)

Hand-built ceramic lidded box, raku-fired with clear crackle glaze lining inside.  Food safe but not water-proof.

Raku firing is quick and low fire, resulting in beautiful variable surface decoration but leaving the clay body porous and therefore not fit for holding water.  The clear crackle glaze inside makes it food safe, and therefore fit for storing tea, coffee, herbs or other dried goods.
